Arneis (little rascal, in Piemontese) is a white grape variety originating from the Piedmont region of Italy, where it is most commonly found in the hills of Roero. Moon Curser is the only producer of this grape variety in Canada, as far as we know. Elegant, crisp with stone fruit, citrus and mineral notes.
For the 2019 vintage we have brought back this white blend - a classic Rhône Valley combination of Roussanne and Marsanne grown and made on the Osoyoos East Bench of the Okanagan Valley. Roussanne and Marsanne are frequently blended together and produce rich and complex wines, with incredible structure and longevity.
Video tasting note available.
Making a return, after a long period of absence, to the Moon Curser portfolio is a single varietal expression of Viognier where the unique characteristics of this varietal such as its perfumed and stone fruit characters can fully shine through.
Osoyoos East Bench interprets Bordeaux: a delicious blend of five traditional Bordeaux grape varieties, with Cabernet Sauvignon being the most prominent component, along with Malbec, Petit Verdot, Carménère and Cabernet Franc. Great depth, intensity of flavour and structure.
This renowned noble grape variety has settled in beautifully in one of the vineyards we farm on the Osoyoos East Bench. Blackcurrant and other dark fruits are backed by a velvety tannin structure. Osoyoos East Bench delicious...
Carménère, originally of Bordeaux, has now become known as a staple of Chilean wine. We remain one of only few wineries producing a varietal Carménère wine in Canada. Delicious, rare and intriguing.
Over the last few years, the South Okanagan has become recognized as a consistent producer of world-class, elegant and complex syrah. For the 2018 vintage we have brought back our Contraband Syrah, which is grown in a superior west-facing hillside block of the Bartsch Vineyard (The Hill). The Hill block has consistently, and reliably, produced beautifully ripened syrah, year after year.
Our 2005 planting of Tannat in our Osoyoos East Bench Vineyard was the first of its kind in Canada. The planting has consistently delivered lush, age-worthy and intriguing wines ever since. Dead of Night is a blend of Tannat (a dark and tannic red grape, traditionally grown in the Madiran region of South West France) and Syrah, and is a one of a kind wine with a gorgeous texture and depth of flavour. We'd say it was our flagship wine, if waving a flag didn't draw attention to us....

This red Italian grape variety is traditionally used to make wine without any oak influence, in order to retain the fruity, light style meant to be enjoyed within a year or two of bottling. Our Osoyoos East Bench version of Dolcetto remains true to its traditional Italian origins, and delivers the easy drinking yet satisfying profile of plums, potpourri and dark chocolate.
Another grape not often seen in these parts, Malbec originated in South West France but is now better known to many as the flagship grape of Argentina. Malbec is one of our small lots and single vineyard wines - keep this to yourself and enjoy in a locked room by the light of a single lantern....
'Tis a rare thing to see this grape on its own, but when it happens, it can be a thing of beauty. Petit Verdot is a late ripening red Bordeaux grape variety that has traditionally contributed structure, body and gorgeous notes of violets to red blends. The abundant heat and sun of our Osoyoos East Bench vineyards create the perfect growing environment for this grape variety, and make this varietal bottling possible.
Over the last several years, South Okanagan has become recognized as a consistent producer of world class, elegant syrah. Our Syrah displays the signature aromatic notes of spices, dark fruits and floral notes, all backed up by lush and approachable tannins. Enjoy...
The Tannat grape is a robust and intense grape variety that originated in the Madiran region of France and has now become known as the flagship grape of Uruguay. Moon Curser was the first in British Columbia to plant Tannat in 2005, and remains, to this day, its premier champion in Canada. Intriguing, age-worthy and unlike any other Okanagan wine, this wine will reward patience in cellaring as fantastic flavours of ink, graphite and earth develop in bottle.
Wine club priority release till Aug 1
Our first Tempranillo block was planted in 2005 and to this day we remain one of only a small handful of Tempranillo growers in BC. This noble red grape, native to Spain, is best known as the early-ripening dominant grape of Rioja. This vintage of our Tempranillo delivers an elegant mouthfeel and a distinctive and intriguing flavour profile at the savoury end of the spectrum. A perennial favourite.
This Portuguese grape (traditionally used to make port) is also now increasingly being used to make dry table wines. This low yielding variety produces very few bunches of small grapes. The resulting high skin to pulp ratio makes for a well-structured, aromatic wines. Moon Curser is the only producer in British Columbia making a table wine from this grape variety and we're delighted to report that the heat and sun of our Osoyoos East Bench vineyards have provided the most welcoming growing environment for this intriguing variety.
